In Poland, the country’s transition to the euro is considered fatal for the economy

The transition to the euro will kill the national economy, said the head of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party, Jarosław Kaczynski.

Previously, Poland has repeatedly stated that they are not yet ready for the transition of the country to the European currency. In particular, the authorities of the republic pointed out that the transition to the euro was provided for in the agreement on the country’s accession to the European Union, but the timing of this process was not specified.

“Look at Estonia, look at Lithuania (which have already switched to the euro – ed.). There inflation is much higher everywhere than here, and they can’t do anything, even raise interest rates. The euro would have killed us during the crisis in 2008 -2010 and even more would have killed us today,” Kaczynski said.
